Creating document schemas
Create your own document templates. A document template consists of a FORM to enter the data and one or more built-in templates.
Built-in templates are used to generate web pages or other documents.
Enable the developer functions on your account
Creating schemas requires developer access on your account. If you do not have it, apply here:
Click new document
Go to the folder where you want to keep the schema and click New document. You can move the schema to another folder later.
Select "Docly Schema (designer)" to create a document template with the designer
Pick Docly Schema (designer) and enter a name for the schema in the title. To write the HTML form by hand instead, pick Docly Schema.
Drag and drop form elements to your form
Drag fields from the toolbar into the form and give each one a field name — the name is the JSON key the value is stored under. Save the schema when you are done.
Create templates
From the "Templates" tab you can select the type of schema — whether it's for documents or folders.
Further, you can create export / display templates for your schema — HTML (or other text files), PDF, or XLSX.
